While in school, he kept wickets as he watched Sachin Tendulkar half-complete a difficult challenge. He then shifted to Engineering where he graduated with hardly any engineering skills at all. At film school, he specialised in Editing but never edited anything after he passed out. Cricket and films did stay his two big loves but luckily for us, he eventually deserted cricket to deliver two cinematic gems in a row. In the first part of my conversation with a dear friend and Hunter and Badhai Do Director Harshvardhan Kulkarni, we talked about his fun-filled childhood but kept coming back to enduring friendships … and committed friends, who believed in us irrespective of our screw-ups and have contributed immensely to our respective careers.
